Sir,What is the difference between MBA & PGDM programme?
Amaira
MBA and PGDM Programmes both are the management programmes differ in their approvals,Programme structure,Teaching method,Fees structure APPROVALS- MBA is the programme being offered by the university and the university is itself being recognized by UGC. PGDM programme is offered by different colleges being recognized by AICTE(ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION) PGDM course is a technical course. PPROGRAMME STRUCTURE- Since MBA is a tradition course having the traditional programme structure being offered by different the different state/central universities and in PGDM the programme structure is being designed by the colleges offering Aicte approved programme, keeping the corporate requirement in mind. TEACHING METHOD- In MBA more emphasis is laid on the course content ,mean more of the theoretical knowledge is given to students(Except autonomous Approved colleges/Universities)Where as in PGDM the programme being Autonomous more emphasis is done on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge. FEES STRUCTURE- Fees structure for the PGDM programme is much higher than MBA programme except few autonomous or Deemed Universities (Eg ICFAI ,Symbiosis )or Government universities.
